Doodle 2 was a successor to DR Doodle, based on the GEM Programmers' Toolkit sample DEMO.APP. The main advance in functionality was the ability to load and save pictures.

In the same way that DR Doodle was bundled with GEM 2.0 on the Amstrad PC1000 series, Doodle 2 was bundled with GEM 3.0 on the Amstrad PC20 and its Sinclair-badged equivalent, the PC200. Uniquely, the PC200 version incorporated the Sinclair logo in its About box.
